The Importance of Collecting E-mail Addresses

I know a number of you already have websites, but there are a lot of
you who don't, and I think that you are missing out on a great
opportunity. But, even if you don't have a website it is wise to start
collecting your patient's e-mail addresses because you can still
use e-mail marketing to your advantage. Here's an interesting
scenario:

It's December and your clinic is running a little slow. You aren't
getting many patients and you worry that the next few months are
not going to get any better. If you had been collecting your patient's
e-mail addresses every time they approached the counter to settle
their bill or fill their prescription, this is what you could do:

Spend about 10 minutes writing an e-mail that explains that for the
month of December you are offering 20% off your services, in-office
labs and all supplements. Send this message out to your list of
patients and do you know what will happen within 12 hours of
sending the e-mail?

Your clinic phone will be ringing off the hook. A slow looking month
will become very busy. All because you put a simple offer into an e-
mail message that took up 10 minutes of your time and cost you
absolutely nothing.

If your business already has a website, then you have a heads-up
on your competition who do not have a web presence yet. However,
if you are not combining the web site with the power of e-mail
marketing then you're only using a fraction of the power of the
Internet.
